Despite the popularity of SMD installations, TNT components (such as lead capacitors, connectors, resistors, diodes) remain in almost every direction of electronics in many directions. In many companies, these components are installed after manually installing printed circuit boards. This requires high-quality installers. However, the quality of the products received is often low and unstable and cannot be 100% tested, resulting in higher yields and production costs. JUKI offers a unique solution-Universal Automatic Machine Installer JM-20, which provides accurate mounting of various types of components through surface and hole mounting technology, combined with the quality and reliability of standard JUKI installers.
JM-20 expands its production capacity by installing various components: SMD components from 0402 to 50 × 50 mm; TNT components have a maximum size of 50 × 50 mm, a height of 55 mm, and a weight of up to 200 grams. The maximum pressure reaches 50N. In addition to standard vacuum nozzles for mounting components, the machine can also be equipped with special nozzles to mechanically grasp non-standard-shaped sized parts or components. The key role of the JM-20 platform concept is various types of feeders: axial and radial feeders, feeders for placers, feeders for tape and pencil boxes. The JM-20 comes standard with a laser centering system and can be equipped with an optional camera. Both methods have their advantages and opportunities.
Lasers accurately identify most components with various forms of housings and terminals. To avoid deviations when mounted on a circuit board, the same component is measured up to two times, not only the body but also the terminals, depending on its shape. This is most important for hopper feeders, because using this type of feeder does not always allow clear positioning of the rotation angle.
The laser measures the pins on the horizontal plane and allows you to determine their exact location. In addition, it identifies bent terminals or pins that are not at right angles to the component housing, and the machine will accurately fix its pins in the holes after making the necessary adjustments. If in this case a conventional / traditional camera "looks" at the component from below, then in a given case, accurate measurement of the lead edge will not be possible: the pin distribution will be determined incorrectly, and such a component will not Will be accurately installed in the hole.
If the component cannot “seat” in the hole due to inaccurate terminal width and hole diameter tolerances, the installation process will stop when the allowable limit of the set force is exceeded. This is the second guarantee that the component is not damaged. The new video recognition system compares multiple images output by components made at different heights. With the selected combination of images, distortion and light reflections are eliminated, resulting in more accurate measurements and therefore-accurate alignment.
Therefore, JM-20 automatic machine is an effective universal tool for achieving reliable automated process pin mounting, surface mounting and mounting of non-standard components with complex shapes.
